Beliefs

We are a praying church surrendered to the truth of Jesus Christ, committed to wholeness, purpose and missional living.

Prayer

We believe that prayer is communication with God who hears and responds. Prayer comes in many forms. It can be time apart from everything else to speak to God, reading scripture with contemplation, gathering together to bring petition before almighty God, or the quiet cry of the lost and broken. We also see prayer as a life lived in communion with Him, one that goes beyond the mere verbal action of speaking to the Creator. It is the honest expression of a heart born out of belief and relationship. An expression that is found in everything that we do.

Church

We believe that the Church is God’s ongoing presence in the world. The Church is people - not a building, program, or a mission statement. People! As a gathering of Christ followers we live out community as we celebrate together, suffer with one another, share what we have, and carry one another’s burdens. The Church is about unity in diversity. It’s about a new redeemed humanity coming together to learn with and from each other.

We affirm that the Church spans all generations and all people, confessing Christ as Lord and following his teachings. One Body, One Spirit, One Hope, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God and Father of all.

Truth

Truth is a paradox of realities. It is complex and simple, static and dynamic. Although we cannot capture truth in a sentence, we find it’s essence in the Triune God. The Father has revealed Himself through the Son by the Holy Spirit. Truth is a person. Truth is Jesus, and the Truth sets us free.

John 14:6

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God, part of the Godhead - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, blameless death and His bodily resurrection. We are forgiven, made free from sin, rescued from hell and death by the shed blood of Jesus. Through faith in Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit as a comfort and guide who leads, corrects, sanctifies, equips and empowers with spiritual gifts those who follow Christ. We believe God has not abandoned the world but has partnered with us in the restoration of all creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Wholeness

We are completely integrated creations - mind, body, and soul, emotions and experiences. If any part of us suffers or is unhealthy, it affects our entire being as well as those around us. When we embrace the salvation Jesus Christ offers us, he redeems every part of us. Its only through the grace that He freely gives us where we find true healing for ourselves, each other, our relationships, and all of creation. We believe that our God is a God who wastes nothing, and works all things together for good.

Romans 8:28

Purpose

We were all created by God for a reason, and when we are living out that purpose we feel the most alive. True happiness and contentment is experienced when we are effectively using our gifts and talents for God.  Purpose involves a lifetime of reaching, exploration, and growing in order to impact the lives around us, incorporating everything from technology to art, strategically communicating the good news of Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 29:11

Missional living

We believe that the Church has been given apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists and pastors to train and prepare the Church to spread the good news of Jesus Christ everywhere. Missional living is committed disciples of Christ preaching the good news with their lives to the people God has placed in their world. It is sharing the gospel natively in their context, lighting the way from death to life, living out the transforming message of resurrection. It is the lifelong task of working out our faith. Faith is not a destination but a journey. Change is embraced, innovation is expected, and rebirth is welcomed.
